What to Pack When Heading off to Sport Camp

Sport camps can be a great way for young and upcoming sports enthusiasts to really find out if they their chosen sport is something which they are interested in and something which they are confident they can excel at.

However, it isn’t all about the sport. If you are getting ready to pack for sport camp or are even just going away with your friends for some camping and a few friendly games, below are some items to keep in in mind when it comes time to pack your car.

You’re Gonna Want to Get in the Water!

Lakes and camping is almost ubiquitous, and this stays true when it comes to sport camps. For this reason, it doesn’t matter if you are playing soccer or tennis, baseball or gymnastics, be sure to take a couple of pair of bathers with you so that you can take advantage of the water and the activities in it.

Stay Safe

Of course, if you are going to be in the water then you are going to be outdoors, which means that you need to ensure your skin is protected from the elements.  Be sure to pack:

  • Suncream
  • Hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Long Sleeve clothing

If you have any other items which you use to stay safe in the sun, be sure not to forget them.

Entertainment

There will be times when you will be in your room with quiet time to yourself. Whether you choose to watch a movie or a TV show, take advantage of a christian book coupon from Groupon Coupons and get in some reading, or perform yoga or another relaxation technique, be sure that you pack what you need, whether that be your tablet/PC, book, or yoga mat.

Repellant

Camping means nature, and nature means bugs. Lots of bugs. And while of those bugs are simply curious and want to know who is coming to visit their home, there are others who will see it as an invasion of their territory.

For this reason, be sure to pack a powerful bug repellant which can keep you free from bites and skin irritations while you are away.

Gifts

If you are going to a camp where you expect to meet other like-minded sports enthusiast from other parts of the country then consider taking a collection of small gifts. You can often buy a packet of small magnets with an iconic structure from your town which makes for great small thank-you presents to people who you encounter and are nice to you.

This is also a great way to make new friends while you are there, so don’t be afraid to bot only buy them and pack them, but actually use them!

A sports camp is a great place to get to know like-minded people and to discover just how enthusiastic you are about your chosen sport. Before you leave, be sure to keep an open mind and not focus on the idea of your sports. Many kids head off to sports camp with the idea that it’s the sport or nothing, putting a lot of pressure on them to perform at something they may not enjoy.

Instead of doing this, go to camp with an open mind and enjoy!
